J∙Festa, a blog carnivalCall For Submissions

Welcome to the theme announcement for the July 2011 edition of J∙Festa, the inaugural edition. The submission lines are now open and everyone is invited to participate!

J∙Festa is a blogging festival showcasing the best of Japan. Here you will find a regular round-up of inspiring articles, thought-provoking stories and arousing images prompted by the announcement of a Japan-related theme.

Theme

“Places In Japan”

In this edition of J∙Festa tell us about a favorite or must-see place in Japan. The possibilities are endless. It could be a famous landmark, a tourist attraction, a sacred site, an abandoned place, a place of worship, a monument or memorial, a sporting venue, a romantic place, a drinking establishment, an amusement park, an entertainment venue, a dining place, an historical site, an exhibition place, a recreational facility. The list could go on. It doesn’t have to be a famous place but it has to epitomize Japan.

Rules and Guidelines

Aside from contributing within the context of the theme, there are only three very simple rules to follow:

  • Submissions should be made in accordance with the J∙Festa Submission Guidelines.
  • The submitted article must contain at least one related picture.
  • The submitted article should contain a link back to this page.

Following are the ways to submit an article:

  • Leave a comment on this post with a link to the article being submitted.
  • Submit the article using the contact form.

Deadline

For this first edition of J-Festa, I thought it was fitting to tell you about my first trip to this place without which my blog wouldn’t probably exist (or if it did, it would be under a different name for sure)

I hope I can participate in this. I’d like to submit my visit to a temple that I would like to go to again. Not one of the more well known ones but one that has something rather popular there.

Here is my link to one of my posts about Gotoku-ji, the Maneki Neko Shrine.
