Theme

“Events in Japan”

In this edition of J∙Festa tell us about a famous Japanese event, or more explicitly, a current or historical “notable occurrence related to Japan”. The possibilities are endless. It could be a current event, a recreational event, an historical event, a religious event, a sporting event, a cultural event, an entertainment event, a political event, a social event. The list could go on. The event does not necessarily have to occur in Japan but it must be related to Japan.

Rules and Guidelines

Aside from contributing within the context of the theme, there are only three very simple rules to follow:

  • Submissions should be made in accordance with the J∙Festa Submission Guidelines.
  • The submitted article must contain at least one related picture.
  • The submitted article must contain a link back to this page.

How to Submit

Following are the ways to submit an article:

  • Leave a comment on this post with a link to the article being submitted.
  • Submit the article using the contact form.

Deadline

The deadline for submissions to this edition of J∙Festa is midnight Thursday 22nd September 2011 (Tokyo time).

I had to think about this one since I haven’t had the luck to see any events in Japan. We have a few here for Obon and Marukai stores put on fun food events. But then I remembered something we had seen that was a bit unusual. I found out more and turns out what we saw was part of Higashiyama Hanatoro, the Kyoto Flower Lantern Festival.

Except it wasn’t the lanterns we saw. Here’s the post if you are interested. http://blukats.blogspot.com/2011/04/kyoto-march-2008.html

Thanks for hosting these! It’s great to see what people submit.
