Welcome to the theme announcement for the February 2012 edition of J∙Festa. The submission lines are now open and everyone is invited to participate!

J∙Festa is a blogging festival showcasing the best of Japan. If you missed the January 2012 edition, don’t forget to check out the eleven inspiring and thought-provoking submissions to “Winter in Japan”.

Theme

“Valentine’s Day in Japan”

In this edition of J∙Festa tell us about Valentine’s Day in Japan. The possibilities are endless. It could be related to the custom of presenting flowers, offering confectionery and sending greeting cards, the commercialisation of Valentine’s Day, the Japanese adoption of the Western tradition or their adaptation of this romantic celebration, the history of Valentine’s Day in Japan. The list could go on. It doesn’t have to occur in Japan but it must be an observation of the celebration of Valentine’s Day that is related to Japan.

Rules and Guidelines

Aside from contributing within the context of the theme, there are only three very simple rules to follow:

• Submissions should be made in accordance with the J∙Festa Submission Guidelines.
• The submitted article must contain at least one related picture.
• The submitted article must contain a link back to this page.

Deadline

The deadline for submissions to this edition of J∙Festa is midnight Wednesday 22nd February 2012 (Tokyo time).
